INTRODUCTION
During the Cold War the United States' congress undertook an effort to purge LGBTQ officials and bureaucrats from government positions. This was called the Lavender Scare.
Some of those dismissed would later spearhead efforts gain LGBTQ rights, such as Frank Kameny, laying the ground work for Stonewall. Ironically, even officials who led investigations, like Roy Cohn, were in fact gay themselves.
Experience the deep tension of those under questioning and those LGBTQ folks leading inquiries in this two player live action online game.
ROLES
QUESTIONER
You are an investigator charged with purging the United States government of queers and sexual deviants - people seen as potential targets of Communist blackmail. You must hide your own queerness.
SUSPECT
You are a government official under investigation. The United States government is purging so-called "sexual deviants" - people seen as potential targets of Communist blackmail.
Content Warning: This game explores themes of LGBTQ discrimination, sex, and political violence.
